Born in
Kolkata, India, the artiste was trained in the Shahjahanpur Gharana
(school of music). Rajrupa started her sarod lessons at the age of five,
under the tutelage of Pranab Naha, at the Ameer Khan School of
Instrumental Music. She received 20 years of intensive training from
Siddharth Roy Chowdhury. Her other gurus include Joydeep Ghosh and
Pandit Ajay Sinha Roy.
